Legalify Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the public-facing website, pages, content, resources, and features made available through Legalify.ca (the "Site").
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. About the Site
The Site is owned or operated by Legalify Inc. ("Legalify", "we", "us", or "our").
The Site may include:
- general legal information and educational content;
- descriptions of Legalify products and services;
- blog, help, and support resources;
- lawyer, notary, paralegal, or other service-provider listings, if offered;
- booking, intake, contact, or newsletter features; and
- links to third-party resources or services.
2. Informational Purposes Only
The Site is provided for general informational and platform-navigation purposes only.
Nothing on the Site constitutes:
- legal advice;
- legal representation;
- tax advice;
- accounting advice;
- a legal opinion;
- a guarantee of legal outcome; or
- a recommendation that you take or avoid any legal step without obtaining advice appropriate to your circumstances.
Your use of the Site does not create a solicitor-client, lawyer-client, paralegal-client, fiduciary, or similar professional relationship with Legalify.
3. No Endorsement of Professionals or Third Parties
If the Site includes directories, listings, profiles, ratings, reviews, availability indicators, or other information relating to lawyers, paralegals, notaries, mediators, or other professionals:
- Legalify does not guarantee the accuracy or currency of that information;
- Legalify does not guarantee that a listed person is suitable for your matter;
- rankings or search results may reflect administrative or technical factors; and
- you remain responsible for independently verifying credentials, regulator standing, and suitability.
4. Eligibility
You may use the Site only if you can lawfully form a binding agreement under applicable law and comply with these Terms.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Site unlawfully or fraudulently;
- impersonate another person;
- attempt unauthorized access to the Site or related systems;
- interfere with the Site's operation, security, or availability;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, mirror, frame, or systematically extract Site data without written authorization;
- upload or transmit malicious software or harmful code;
- submit false, defamatory, abusive, hateful, obscene, or infringing content; or
- use the Site in a manner that could expose Legalify or others to legal, regulatory, reputational, or security risk.
6. Intellectual Property
The Site and all content on it, including text, graphics, logos, branding, layout, design, images, software, workflows, downloads, forms, and compilations, are owned by or licensed to Legalify and protected by law.
Subject to these Terms, you may view and print limited portions of the Site for your own lawful personal or internal business use only.
You must not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, sell, license, create derivative works from, or exploit Site content without Legalify's prior written permission, except as permitted by non-waivable law.
7. User Submissions, Feedback, Reviews, and Testimonials
If you submit feedback, questions, comments, reviews, ratings, or testimonials through the Site, you grant Legalify a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, display, and moderate that content for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Site and related Services, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
You must not submit content that is:
- confidential without authority;
- false or misleading;
- unlawful;
- infringing; or
- defamatory.
Legalify may remove or moderate user submissions at its discretion for legal, policy, authenticity, safety, privacy, or moderation reasons.
8. Links and Third-Party Services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, payment processors, booking platforms, regulators, law societies, video or messaging platforms, or external resources.
Legalify does not control those third-party services and is not responsible for their content, terms, privacy practices, availability, or security.
Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.
9. Site Availability and Changes
Legalify may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, with or without notice.
Legalify does not guarantee that the Site will be continuously available, current, secure, or free of errors or harmful components.
10. No Reliance and Disclaimer
While Legalify aims to make the Site useful and current, Legalify does not warrant that any Site content is accurate, complete, current, reliable, or suitable for your needs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties, conditions, or representations of any kind, express, implied, statutory, or collateral.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legalify and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, suppliers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, exemplary, or aggravated damages arising from or relating to:
- your use of or inability to use the Site;
- your reliance on Site content;
- third-party content or services linked from the Site; or
- any interruption, error, omission, delay, or security issue affecting the Site.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legalify's total aggregate liability relating to the Site will not exceed CAD $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Site is subject to the Legalify Privacy Policy.
13. Quebec Users and Language
If you are a consumer in Quebec, a French version of these Terms and related consumer-facing documents should be made available to you in the manner required by law.
If you expressly choose the English version after first being presented with the French version, you confirm your wish that these Terms and the related documents be drawn up in English.

Si vous êtes un consommateur au Québec, une version française des présentes modalités et des documents qui s'y rattachent doit vous être remise ou rendue accessible conformément à la loi applicable. Si vous choisissez expressément la version anglaise après avoir d'abord eu accès à la version française, vous confirmez votre volonté que les présentes modalités et les documents qui s'y rattachent soient rédigés en anglais.
14. Governing Law
Except where mandatory law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Any dispute relating to the Site will be brought before the courts of Ontario, Canada, except to the extent mandatory law gives you a non-waivable right to proceed elsewhere.
Nothing in these Terms waives any non-waivable statutory right.
15. Changes to These Terms
Legalify may update these Terms from time to time by posting a revised version with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of the revised version constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
