Legalify CASL Acknowledgement

Effective Date: April 14, 2026
Last Updated: April 14, 2026

This CASL Acknowledgement explains how Legalify Inc., operating Legalify.ca ("Legalify", "we", "us", or "our"), sends commercial electronic messages in compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

For the purpose of this Acknowledgement, a "commercial electronic message" or "CEM" includes an email, text message, direct message, or similar electronic communication that encourages participation in a commercial activity.

1. Consent to Receive Commercial Electronic Messages

By creating an account, making an inquiry, filling out a form, subscribing to updates, requesting a booking, purchasing a service, or otherwise providing your electronic contact information to Legalify, you acknowledge that Legalify may send electronic messages as permitted by law.

Where CASL requires consent, Legalify will rely on:

  • express consent, where you have actively agreed to receive CEMs; or
  • implied consent, where permitted by law, including in connection with an existing business relationship, an existing non-business relationship, or certain inquiries or applications.

Legalify will not treat silence or inactivity as express consent where CASL requires an affirmative opt-in.

2. Requests for Consent

Where Legalify asks for express consent to send promotional or marketing CEMs, Legalify will seek that consent separately or in a manner that complies with applicable law.

To the extent required by law, consent to receive promotional CEMs is not a condition of purchasing Legalify's Services unless the communication is integral to the requested Service or otherwise permitted by law.

3. Types of Messages Legalify May Send

Legalify may send you messages relating to:

  • account creation, access, authentication, and security;
  • purchases, invoices, receipts, payment issues, and refunds;
  • bookings, consultations, reminders, rescheduling, and follow-up;
  • requested documents, workflows, or platform access;
  • support and customer service;
  • changes to features, pricing, terms, or policies;
  • newsletters, updates, offers, promotions, and events; and
  • other communications permitted by law.

4. Identification Information in Messages

Where required by law, Legalify's CEMs will identify Legalify and include the contact information required by law.

For marketing and promotional communications, Legalify intends to include:

  • sender identification for Legalify Inc.; and
  • a valid contact method such as marketing@legalify.ca or another permitted contact method.

5. Unsubscribe and Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw consent to receive promotional or marketing CEMs at any time by:

  • clicking the unsubscribe link in the message, where provided; or
  • emailing marketing@legalify.ca.

Legalify will process unsubscribe requests within the time required by applicable law.

Unsubscribing from marketing CEMs will not prevent Legalify from sending non-promotional messages permitted by law.

6. Transactional and Service Messages

Even if you unsubscribe from promotional messages, Legalify may still send messages relating to:

  • your account;
  • security or fraud alerts;
  • a service you requested or purchased;
  • a booking or consultation you initiated;
  • invoices, receipts, or refunds;
  • technical or policy updates affecting your use of the Services; and
  • other communications permitted or required by law.

7. Consent Records and Compliance

Legalify may maintain records relating to CASL compliance, including records of:

  • when and how consent was obtained;
  • the scope of consent;
  • the source of contact information;
  • unsubscribe requests; and
  • actions taken to process consent withdrawals.

8. Messages Sent on Behalf of or in Connection With Others

If Legalify sends a CEM on behalf of another person or organization, or to facilitate a booking or requested service involving an independent professional, Legalify may identify both Legalify and the relevant person or organization as required by law.

9. Quebec Users and Language

If this Acknowledgement is presented to Quebec consumers, a French version should also be made available where required by law.

10. Changes to This Acknowledgement

Legalify may update this CASL Acknowledgement from time to time by posting a revised version with a new "Last Updated" date.
